Kenny Damara

Kenny Damara is the founder of Hope in Truth Ministries, which was officially launched in August of 2021.

He was born in Hyderabad, India, and is the son of Emmanuel and Elsa Damara, who serve the Lord in Hyderabad, India. Kenny came to faith in Jesus Christ at age 14. When growing up, his ambition was to be a cricketer and play for India. For his undergraduate, he studied Mass Communication, and gained experience as a freelance journalist, working for The Hindu, a national newspaper in India. It was at these crossroads in his life, in June of 2008, that the Lord called him to preach and to full time ministry.

In January of 2009, Kenny travelled to Chicago to attend the Moody Theological Seminary and pursue a Master of Divinity. He graduated from MTS in 2013. He served as a Pastoral Resident for 7 years, on the pastoral staff of his home church in Chicago, The Moody Church, shepherding the flock through preaching, teaching, counseling, administration, and perhaps most importantly, sharing in the leadership of the Wednesday night prayer meeting.

In fulfilling his calling to preach the Word of God, Kenny prays that people who have not believed will turn to Christ, and that Christians will grow in their Christlikeness. Besides preaching, Kenny also gets the Gospel out through writing blogs and books. He’s the author of two books, Divided Desire and Endurance Experts.

Kenny has a desire to see the Gospel of Jesus Christ proclaimed and defended both in the US, India, and all over the world. Through Hope in Truth Ministries, that desire of his is gradually being fulfilled by the Lord. He joins in earnest prayer along with many others for God to send a revival in our times, that will result in the refreshing of the Church’s devotion to the Lord Jesus and a fresh harvest of souls, for God’s glory.
